The Preferences Tab

Created by Matthew Kunzman ©2007

In the preferences tab, there are three settings. They are "Display Sugar Concentration as:", "Wort Volume Measurements in:", and "Starter Volume Measurements in:".

Display Sugar Concentration as:
The Display Sugar Concentration as section sets the measurement of the wort gravities entered into the program. The options are O.G. (Original Gravity) and Plato. These are both measurements of specific gravity of the wort. It is similar to choosing temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius. These measurements are taken by a hydrometer or a refractometer. Most homebrewers use O.G. as their gravity measurement, so this option is listed as the default.

Wort Volume Measurements in:
The Wort Volume Measurements in section sets the measurement for the volumes of brewing wort. This is the measurement for the wort at pitching time. US Gallons is the default. Other options include Quarts, Imperial Gallons, Hectoliters, and US Barrels.

Starter Volume Measurements in:
The Starter Volume Measurements in section sets the measurement used for the starter wort. The default is liters. Other options include US Gallons, Quarts, Imperial Gallons, Hectoliters, and US Barrels.
